Trading on the New York Stock Exchange ended on Friday with a slight increase in key indices. Relevant data is available on the trading platform website.
By the end of the trading session, American industrial index Dow Jones grew by 60.08 points (0.25%) and set at 23 685.42 points. The S&P 500 index, which includes 500 largest companies on the US market, gained 11.2 points (0.39%) and reached the mark of 2 863.7 points. The Nasdaq Electronic Exchange Index rose by 70.84 points (0.79%) to 9,014.56 points.
The value of June futures for WTI oil rose by 7.22% (US$2) and amounted to US$29.71.
At the same time, CNBC notes that the indices showed a slight decline. Thus, Dow Jones lost 2.7% over the week, S&P 500 - 2.3%, Nasdaq - 1.2%. According to CNBC, the decline was provoked primarily by the negative impact of the new coronavirus pandemic on the U.S. economy, as well as concerns of investors about possible aggravation of trade friction between Washington and Beijing.
